Do you accept Purchase Orders?
Yes. Purchase orders are accepted from colleges, universities, government agencies, museums, corporations, rape crisis centers, high schools and public libraries only. Purchase orders must specify the address and telephone number, and email address of the accounts payable department or responsible person at each institution. Purchase orders must be paid within 20 business days (4 weeks) upon receipt of the DVD(s). PO’s can be mailed to AfroLez Productions, PO Box 58085, Philadelphia, PA 19102-8085; or you may fax them to 1.845.774.2945. We do not accept purchase orders for home video purchases.

I want to make a credit card purchase but am unable to use PayPal to place my order.
If you are unable to make a credit card using Paypal, please call 1.800.343.5540 or (1.845.774.7335), Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm (EST), to place your credit card order.

Why is there a three tier price range?
The sole purpose of the three-tier price range is to make NO! and Breaking Silences accessible to everyone. Following are the detailed descriptions of the price rates, which do not include shipping and handling:

Institutional/Organizational Rate ($195)
Colleges/Universities (Excluding Historically Black Colleges and Universities), Corporations/Government Agencies, Non-Profit Organizations
This rate includes all non-profit organizations (including rape crisis centers, domestic violence and sexual assault networks) whose annual operating budgets are $250,000 and over. It also includes all organizations, regardless of budget, that are housed within or affiliated with colleges/universities.

Select Organizational Rate ($49.95)
The Select Organizational Purchase is only for Historically Black College/Universities, Public/Charter Secondary Schools, Public Libraries, and those organizations whose annual operating budget is less than $250,000. If you are not an HBCU, a Public/Charter Secondary School, or a Public Library, and your organization’s annual operating budget is over $250,000, you must pay the institutional rate. (hyper link back to Institutional/Organizational page). If your organization is housed within or directly affiliated with a college/university, you must also pay the institutional rate.

Home Video Rate ($29.95)
NO! and Breaking Silences may be purchased by individuals for personal home viewing with family and friends only. When purchasing NO! and Breaking Silences at the home video rate, you are not entitled to any public performance rights.

I want to charge admission for a screening of NO! and Breaking Silences. What’s the policy?
The fees for Institutional and Select Organizational includes in-house public performance rights for classroom, library and organizational use by the acquiring institution for non-paying audiences only. If you want to charge audiences for a screening of NO! or Breaking Silences, contact AfroLez® Productions to make arrangements prior to your event.

Why are NO! and Breaking Silences so expensive?
NO! and Breaking Silences are educational videos, which are overwhelmingly being used by college/universities, institutions and organizations for educational use. We created a three tier process to include a home video rate, with the hope that NO! and Breaking Silences will be financially accessible to everyone who want to both view and use the videos. The institutional and select organizational rates come with the public performance license for the life of the DVDs to screen the videos (over and over again) to non-paying audiences or for library loaning. The home video purchase only grants individuals the license to watch both videos in their homes with family and friends. It does not include the public performance license.

Equally as important our institutional and select organizational rates are, in most cases, less expensive than other educational distributors who distribute films/videos on violence against women.

What’s the cost of the DVD(s) if I don’t live in the United States?
Institutions, organizations, and individuals who live outside of the United States (including Canada), may purchase NO! and Breaking Silences. If you’re unable to use Paypal, please call 1.845.774.7335 to place your order. All payments must be made, in advance, using U.S. currency. An additional $10 will be added to the balance of your order.

What are the rental fees?
Rental fees for public screenings are always negotiated based on the number of screenings per film, seating capacity, and admission. I would like to preview the DVD(s). Is this possible?
Previews are only available for institutions, organizations, reviewers and programmers only. A $20 fee per title (including shipping) for a 10-day period for purchase consideration. The preview fee will be deducted from the sale price if a title is purchased within 30 days. Previews do NOT include public performance rights and may not be used for instructional purposes. Film Reviewers and Other Journalists
If you are a film critics, academic reviewers and/or other journalist who wants to review or write about NO!, Breaking Silences, or Unveiling the Silence: NO! Can you track my package?
Orders are shipped to arrive 2 weeks from the time you place your order. If you have paid for rush shipping, you should receive your order within 5 business days. If you do not receive your order within these time frames, we would be happy to send you tracking info.

My DVD isn’t working?
If a DVD arrives damaged or if you’re having any technical problems with the DVD, we will replace it at no cost. If you receive a DVD that was damaged during shipment, please save the original invoice and packaging and call 215.701.6150 immediately. Alternatively, you may complete the contact form, and we will replace your DVD. If a DVD is damaged after purchase, a replacement copy can be obtained for 50% of the list price, plus shipping and handling. All damaged DVDs must be returned prior to replacement.

I am a tax-exempt organization/school. Do you charge taxes?
We only charge taxes on all purchases within PA State. If you’re a tax-exempt organization/school based in PA, who is making a purchase through PayPal, simply order the DVD(s) and complete the contact form to tell us that you are a non-profit and include your status number and we will refund the tax. Sorry there is not a simple paypal button to do that.

I would like to bring Aishah Shahidah Simmons to present NO! and/or Breaking Silences at an event I’m organizing, do I need to purchase the DVD(s) for the event?
No, Aishah travels with her documentaries to all events where either NO! or Breaking Silences will be screened.
